Latisha (aka “Tisha”) Maisonette was born on June 17, 1984 to Zelliar Stewart and James A. Stewart, Jr. in Far Rockaway, NY. Tisha began her education at Public School 105 in Far Rockaway, Queens, New York. She attended various schools throughout the New York City Department of Education’s School System until she graduated from Forest Hills High School in Queens, New York in 2002. A few years after graduating High School and beginning the workforce, Latisha gave birth to three sons: Jayden, Jaheim, and Tyrone Jr., respectively...as she called each her “3 Kings” and proclaimed herself to be the “Mother of 3 Kings” respectively. ...And so she was. Her children were her life. She didn’t go anywhere without her children unless it was to work and she went to work for her children.
Her purpose in life was to make life greater for her boys. She loved her boys. Anyone who knew Tisha knew how much she loved her boys. Her three children motivated her to work hard in life and ultimately succeeded in providing a well-established, secure and stabilized home for them despite many obstacles.
Growing up, Tisha was always displaying her passion for both fashion and medicine. She was always certain about her knack for fashion and she always kept up with all the latest and up to date fashion trends. She made sure that she and her sister and friends talked frequently to keep one another up to par with the latest fashions. As she matured into motherhood, she maintained that same fashion trend with her sons, keeping them styled with all of the latest fashions.
Despite Tisha’s good sense of style and fashion, Tisha was always inspired and intrigued by the field of medicine and the desire to help people, but she wasn’t sure what field of medicine she wanted to specialize in. The fact that Tisha had such excellent interpersonal communication skills and got along well with any personality type she encountered, it didn’t matter which area of medicine she chose to work in as her profession, she would embrace it with perfection.
In 2018, after working for a number of years in private HomeCare, Latisha began her tenure at Pilgrim Psychiatric Center in Brookhaven, NY and continued on until she was relocated to another State’s Facility where she continued her tenure at Kidspeace Children’s Psychiatric Center in Schnecksville, PA until her demise. From a small child Tisha was always known to be very affectionate and extremely humorous. Her fun spirit and loving nature made her a joy for all to be around. Her unselfish characteristics, compiled with her sense of humor, made her easily loved by everyone she met.
Tisha loved to be around her family and friends; especially her brother, sister, parents, children and nephews; where she would entertain them with her humoristic and bubbly personality. She was a kind hearted and loving individual who always put the needs of others before her own. h\ Latisha was unexpectedly called home to be with the Lord during the evening of Saturday, August 7, 2021. Tisha was a true “Gem” and “Angel” and touched the lives of everyone she encountered.
She will always be loved and will be truly missed while remaining forever in our hearts She is survived by her (3) Three sons: Jayden Fisher, Jaheim Fisher, & Tyrone Winslow Jr. (and their respective fathers: Kevin Fisher & Tyrone Winslow; both of whom Tisha co-parented very well with); her Mother: Zelliar Stewart; Father: James A. Stewart, Jr.; (1) One Grandmother: Zelliar Hammond; (1) One Sister: Elizabeth Maisonette; (1) One Brother: James A. Stewart III (Buddha); (1) One Brother-in-law: Andrew Townes; (2) Two Aunts: Barbara & Lola; (4) Four Uncles: Thomas, Kelvin, Jeffrey, & Joseph; (2) Two Nephews: Amantei & Angel; (1) One Godson: Lamar; (3) Three Best-Friends: Roxanne, Brittnie, and Lamont; and a host of cousins, other relatives and close friends. Latisha will also leave to mourn her passing, the grandmother of her children Sondra Fisher. Sondra was not only a grandmother to Tisha’s children, but she was also like a second mother to her and also a friend and a close “confidant”. The relationship between Tisha and Sondra was very close; filled with love and support.
